Terms of Service
The agreement between you and Polaris: plans, usage, payments, refunds, your content and our responsibilities during the beta.
Effective 1 November 2026. Version: Beta.
These terms are an agreement between you and Andreas Asprou LTD, a company registered in Cyprus (registration number HE 446408, registered office 10 Spyrou Kyprianou, Mesa Geitonia, 4001 Limassol, Cyprus, VAT number CY60005795K), trading as Polaris.
- “We”, “us” and “Polaris” mean Andreas Asprou LTD.
- “You” means the person who accepts these terms. If you accept them for a company or other organization, “you” means that organization too, and you confirm you’re allowed to bind it.
Polaris is built for developers and teams using it for their work.
These terms include our Data Processing Addendum when you use Polaris for work. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal data. Our Security page describes how we protect your work today.
Words we use
- Content: your code, files, prompts, Session transcripts, outputs, and anything else you or your agents put into Polaris.
- Machine: the cloud computer a Workspace runs on.
- Usage: Machine time, priced in dollars.
- Extra usage: usage you buy on top of your plan, also called a top-up.
- Consumer: a person using Polaris mainly for purposes outside their trade, business or profession, such as a hobby project. Using Polaris for your job, for clients, or for a business you’re building isn’t consumer use.
1. Polaris is in beta
Polaris is an invite-only beta. That means:
- Features may be unfinished, change, or be removed.
- Things will sometimes break. You may lose work that isn’t saved anywhere else, so push code you care about to GitHub.
- We don’t offer an uptime guarantee, service credits or a guaranteed support response time.
- Our database backups (kept for 14 days) protect against disasters. They aren’t a way to restore an individual file, Machine or Session for you.
As-is. Except for the promises in these terms, we provide Polaris as it is and as available. We don’t promise it will be uninterrupted, error-free or fit for a particular purpose.
Consumers keep their rights. If you’re a consumer, you have a legal right to a service that matches its description, including necessary security updates. If Polaris doesn’t, you can ask us to fix it, and where the law allows, get a price reduction or end the contract with a refund. Being in beta doesn’t take those rights away.
2. Your account
- You need a GitHub account to sign in, and you must be at least 18.
- Keep your account secure. Tell us at andreas@plrs.sh if you think someone else has used it.
- You’re responsible for what happens in your account and in Organizations you manage, including what the people you invite do there.
- Organization Owners and Admins can read every Session in their Organization, including Sessions that aren’t shared with them, and their Machines’ files and Previews. Members should know this before they work in a shared Organization.
3. Your content
You own your content. You let us host, copy, process and transmit it only to run Polaris for you, follow your instructions, keep Polaris secure, and meet legal obligations. This permission ends when your content is deleted, apart from backup copies until they expire (14 days) and copies the law requires us to keep.
We don’t train models on your content. We don’t sell it or use it for advertising. We use it only to run, secure, fix and improve Polaris as section 11 describes, or for something else you ask us to.
Outputs.
- As between you and us, you own what your agents produce for you.
- Outputs can resemble outputs for other people, may not be protected by copyright, and may include material under open-source or other licences.
- You’re responsible for checking that.
Feedback. If you send us ideas or suggestions, we may use them freely. That doesn’t give us any rights in your code, confidential information or personal data.
4. Agents act for you
Polaris runs coding agents on Machines on your behalf. Agents can run commands, change or delete files, use the internet, and act through accounts you connect, such as GitHub. On a Machine, agents and setup scripts run with root access, and they can read credentials stored there.
You’re responsible for:
- the instructions you give, and the permissions, accounts and credentials you connect;
- costs your agents run up on accounts you connect, such as your model provider or cloud account;
- reviewing and testing code before you merge, deploy or rely on it;
- checking factual statements made by AI before relying on them. AI output can be wrong, even when it sounds sure;
- using test credentials and separate environments where a mistake would be costly.
We’re responsible for running Polaris with reasonable care, keeping the promises in section 11 and in our DPA, and fixing our own mistakes, including billing errors. Your responsibilities don’t excuse a breach by us.
We don’t promise to review agent output, or to stop every harmful instruction, prompt injection or unwanted action.
5. Model providers and connected accounts
You choose the coding agent and model provider for your work, such as Anthropic (Claude Code), OpenAI (Codex), OpenRouter or Google, and you connect your own account or API key. Your provider receives the prompts, files and context your agent sends it, under your agreement with that provider.
- You must follow your provider’s terms and usage policies, including Anthropic’s Usage Policy and OpenAI’s Usage Policies.
- Claude subscriptions. You can connect your own Claude subscription or an Anthropic API key. Your use of Claude stays under Anthropic’s terms, and we keep your connection sealed like your other credentials.
- We don’t resell model usage. Your provider bills you directly.
- We may add or drop supported agents, providers and sign-in methods. If we drop one you use, we’ll tell you in advance when we can.
Some Polaris features use AI under our account: Session recaps, dictation and voice use OpenAI. When you use them, OpenAI’s usage policies apply to you too. Recaps are on by default; Organization Owners and Admins can turn them off. Our Privacy Policy explains what these features send.
6. Acceptable use
Don’t use Polaris, or let your agents use it, to:
- break the law, or infringe anyone’s rights;
- attack, scan or probe systems you don’t own or aren’t authorized to test;
- steal credentials, spread malware, or send spam or abusive messages;
- mine cryptocurrency, run a public proxy or VPN, or resell Machine access;
- get around usage limits, billing, or our security controls;
- interfere with Polaris, other customers, or our providers.
Authorized security testing of your own systems and ordinary blockchain development are fine. Public Previews and shared links can be opened by anyone who has the link. Don’t use them to host anything unlawful or harmful.
7. Plans and billing
Plans.
- Pro costs $20 a month and includes $20 of usage each month.
- Max costs $200 a month and includes $200 of usage each month. It’s for teams.
- Usage rates are shown in Polaris. Included usage doesn’t roll over to the next month.
Prices and tax. Prices are in US dollars, plus VAT or similar taxes where the law requires; checkout shows the total. Stripe processes payments. We never see or store your full card number.
Renewal and cancelling. Plans renew monthly and charge your card automatically until you cancel. You can cancel any time in Settings › Billing › Manage billing. Cancelling stops the next renewal, and you keep your plan until the end of the period you’ve paid for.
Trial.
- Where we offer it, the Pro trial is for Personal Organizations. It lasts 7 days and includes $12 of usage.
- You add a card to start. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, it becomes Pro and we charge $20. We email you about two days before it ends.
- If you use the $12 early, you can start Pro straight away from Settings › Billing.
- There’s one trial per GitHub account and card.
- Invited beta testers don’t need a trial.
Extra usage. Where available, you can buy extra usage in whole dollars, from $20, while you have an active plan. It lasts 12 months from purchase and is used after your plan’s included usage.
Auto top-up.
- If you turn it on, we buy the amount you choose (from $20 to $500) whenever you have less than $2 of usage left.
- You set a limit for each billing period, and we never go over it. Near the limit, we charge only what’s left of it, if that’s at least $20.
- You agree to these charges when you turn auto top-up on, and you can turn it off at any time.
When usage runs out. If you have no usage left, we may stop running work: we pause your Machines and end any agent work in progress, and we don’t start new work until you add usage or your plan renews. Your files and Sessions are kept. We never charge you for usage beyond your plan and the extra usage you’ve bought.
Upgrading.
- Moving from Pro to Max takes effect once the payment succeeds. We charge $200, less a credit for the unused time on your Pro month, and a new monthly period starts with $200 of usage.
- Included Pro usage you haven’t used doesn’t carry over; extra usage does.
- If the payment fails, you stay on Pro.
Failed payments. If a payment fails, we’ll tell you so you can update your card. If it isn’t fixed, we may pause paid features until it is.
8. Refunds
Payments aren’t refundable, except where the law requires it or where we’ve made a mistake.
If we end the beta or close your account without you breaching these terms, we refund the unused part of your current plan period and your unused extra usage.
EU and UK consumers.
- If you’re a consumer in the EU or UK, you can withdraw from a purchase within 14 days without giving a reason.
- For a plan, those 14 days start when you subscribe or start a trial. For extra usage, they start when you buy it.
- Your plan and extra usage start as soon as you pay, and you agree to that when you buy. If you withdraw, we refund what you paid minus the paid usage you’ve already used. Usage included in a free trial is never deducted.
- To withdraw, email andreas@plrs.sh, use the form below, or send us any other clear statement. We’ll confirm by email and refund within 14 days, to your original payment method.
Withdrawal form (EU and UK consumers only)
To Andreas Asprou LTD (Polaris), 10 Spyrou Kyprianou, Mesa Geitonia, 4001 Limassol, Cyprus, andreas@plrs.sh: I withdraw from my contract for: [plan or extra usage purchase] Ordered on: [date] · Name: [your name] · Email on your account: [email] Date: [date]
9. Suspension and closing accounts
You can cancel your plan at any time. To close your account or delete your data, email andreas@plrs.sh. Self-serve deletion isn’t built yet.
We may suspend part or all of your account if it’s reasonably necessary because:
- you’ve seriously breached these terms;
- your account is being used to attack, abuse or put others at risk;
- the law requires it;
- payments are overdue.
We’ll use the smallest restriction that deals with the problem. If the problem can be fixed, we’ll normally give you notice and a chance to fix it first; we act immediately only when we must. You can ask us to review a suspension by emailing andreas@plrs.sh. Suspension doesn’t delete your data.
We may close your account:
- with 30 days’ notice; or
- straight away, if you’ve seriously breached these terms and haven’t fixed it after notice.
We’ll give you a way to get your data back first, except where the law or security prevents it.
Ending the beta. We may end the beta or stop offering Polaris with at least 30 days’ notice. Moving Polaris from beta to general availability isn’t ending it: your account and data carry over.
10. Changes to these terms and to prices
We’ll update these terms as Polaris changes: to add or change features, respond to our providers or the law, keep Polaris secure, or make it sustainable.
- Changes that are worse for you: we’ll email you at least 30 days before they take effect. If you don’t accept a change, you can cancel before it takes effect, and we’ll refund the unused part of your plan period and your unused extra usage.
- Consumers can also end the contract within 30 days after we tell you about a change or after it takes effect, whichever is later. Changes to the service never cost you extra.
- Changes needed urgently for security or legal reasons may take effect sooner. We’ll explain them when we make them.
- Price increases apply from your first renewal at least 30 days after we tell you. Increases to usage rates apply only to work done after the notice period. We won’t shorten the life of extra usage you’ve already bought.
The version and date at the top show which terms apply.
11. Confidentiality and security
We keep your content confidential. We share it only with the providers that help us run Polaris (listed on our Subprocessors page), with people you choose to share with, or when the law requires.
- We can technically open your content (code, transcripts and Machine files) through our production systems.
- We open it to give support, keep Polaris running or restore it, investigate security or abuse, meet a legal obligation, and improve Polaris: for example, to see why an agent run failed or how a feature gets used.
- Each time one of us opens your content, we write down who, when and why.
- We never sell your content, use it for advertising, or train AI models on it.
- If you’d rather we didn’t look at your Sessions to improve Polaris, email andreas@plrs.sh and we’ll exclude your Organization.
Incidents. If a security incident affects your data, we’ll tell you without undue delay, and within 72 hours of confirming it.
12. Getting your data out
You can download your files and pull your Sessions at any time.
- If you’re leaving Polaris, email andreas@plrs.sh. We’ll send you an export of your Session transcripts and files within 30 days, and help you move to another service.
- There’s no charge for this.
- After your account closes, we keep your data for 30 days so you can still ask for an export, then delete it, unless you ask us to delete it sooner.
13. Liability
For everyone: nothing in these terms limits liability for fraud, wilful misconduct or gross negligence, for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or anything else the law doesn’t allow us to limit.
Business customers:
- Our total liability for all claims connected with Polaris is limited to the greater of US$1,000 or the fees you paid us (excluding tax) in the 12 months before the event that caused the claim.
- We aren’t liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits, as far as the law allows.
- The reasonable direct cost of restoring data or responding to a security incident caused by our breach counts as a direct loss.
Consumers: these limits don’t apply to you. You have the rights consumer law gives you.
14. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of Cyprus. Business disputes go to the courts of Cyprus.
If you’re a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you can bring a claim in your local courts. We don’t require arbitration or class-action waivers.
Talk to us first at andreas@plrs.sh. Most problems are easier to fix by email.
15. Other terms
- Notices. We send notices to the email address on your account, which comes from GitHub. Keep it current.
- Severability. If any part of these terms can’t be enforced, the rest still applies.
- Transfer.
- We can transfer this agreement to a company that takes over Polaris, and we’ll tell you if that happens. Your rights under these terms don’t change. If you don’t want to continue with them, you can cancel, and we’ll refund the unused part of your plan period and your unused extra usage.
- You can’t transfer this agreement without our agreement.
- Waiver. Not enforcing a right straight away doesn’t mean we’ve given it up.
- Whole agreement. These terms, with the documents they include, are the whole agreement between us about Polaris. A signed agreement between you and us takes priority where it differs.
